To Be Circumcised or Not To Be Circumcised

Paul explains that all who are "in Christ" are members of the true Israel of God and are counted as the true sons of Abraham. That is, in the Christian Messiah , circumcision, Israel, and the seed of Abraham take on a new, spiritual meaning.circumcision "real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal" (Rom. 2:29, RSV). In other words, one is a new creation "if one abides with the christian messiah" and circumcision is done away with - not even needed for one born a Jew.

NOW PRAY TELL....how Paul has the audacity to change G-d's commandments and words? In the passages of Ezekiel (chapters 40-48) speaks of the rebuilding of the 3rd Temple and the return of animal sacrifices. Pay attention to Ezekiel 44:9.So said the Lord God: No alien of uncircumcised heart or of uncircumcised flesh may enter My Sanctuary, of any alien who is in the midst of the Children of Israel.

So dear Jew - if you have been raised in a secular family and have not had a bris - it is time for you to have one! As it is one of the 613 commandments

I am stopping by! : )

In response to your post though- if i'm correct, the reason Paul said that was because the Jews of the time would pressure gentile followers to get circumcised. Paul just wanted to emphasize that circumcision of the heart is more important than circumcision of the flesh. He was merely applying a principal: The condition of the heart is what saves us, the failings of the flesh is already covered by Christ's blood.

Therefore, i do not think Paul is pushing for Jews to stop circumcision, but to remember that the physical action will not cover you if your heart is in the wrong place.

It's interesting to hear what you have to say tho! i'll have to visit more often ^_^

God Bless!
